I am blind or visually impaired: the Third Eye Kit in one minute
Hello. I am Said. I lost my sight in the war and was blind in both eyes. I recovered sight in one eye. I am still blind in the other. So I know what you know: the mobility aid finds the ground, but it misses the branch at your face and the open cabinet door at your waist.
The Third Eye Kit is bands you wear: a collar, a belt, and two ankle bands. Sensors read the space around you, and small motors press it onto your skin. You learn it with three rules.
Where it buzzes is where it would hit you. Collar means duck. Belt means step aside. Ankles mean watch the ground.
The stronger it buzzes, the closer it is.
If it moves, follow the motion. A buzz rising at your ankles means stairs up. Falling means stairs down.
The first kit went to TEKNOFEST 2022, reached the final and won Best Presentation. We gave out tens of kits, and people built hundreds more from our open design. The second generation is nearly ready. It is built for blind and visually impaired people.
You can feel how it works on your phone right now, or ask us for a kit.
While you learn the second generation, keep your mobility aid with you.
