This record is the constitution of the Third Eye Kit second generation. Every page of tek.sadeqi.me and every frame of the films traces to a file in docs/. If a fact is not here, it is measured, or it is labeled unverified and kept off the public site.
Fixed facts
- First generation: we built and gave out tens of first generation kits ourselves. Because the design was open, hundreds more were built by the people who needed them, with our help sourcing parts. Tested in Herat and in Turkey. TEKNOFEST 2022 finalist with Best Presentation. Never say a thousand. Never "by the founder's account."
- Second generation is built to learn from, not to distribute yet.
- The assist frame (exoskeleton) is planned after milestones G0 to G4. It is never described as built, as part of the kit, or as a requirement.
- The wearer's own phone is the Brain. It is kept out of the warning path by a hardware isolation boundary.
- All latency numbers are modeled. Motor rise time is the first measurement.
- The three laws do not change: where it buzzes is where it would hit you; how strong is how close; if it moves, follow the motion.
- The founder is Said Mohaddes Sadeqi, founder and president of Third Eye Worldwide. He lost his sight in the war and was blind in both eyes; he recovered sight in one eye and is still blind in the other. He built the first kit while blind. His surname is pronounced as already transcribed from his recording. His face is never generated; only the real photo and the real footage are used.
- Prices are working figures at single kit quantity and will change. The budget lives on the website, not in the films.
- Second generation status, always stated plainly: it is being built now. Firmware is specified, not written. Latency figures are modeled, not measured. The haptic display grid is a design, not built.
- TEK is built for blind and visually impaired people: the design goal and the team's belief, stated only with the test condition beside it. The second generation has not passed the replacement test, and until it does, no page tells anyone to change how they travel now. The belt keeps warning with the phone off.
- The Columbia sentence, exactly and only this, text only, no logo: "The Third Eye Kit is developed by Third Eye Worldwide in collaboration with researchers at Columbia University's Computer Enabled Abilities Lab (CEAL).
- No em dashes or long hyphens anywhere in any text.
